Pete Doherty arrested in east London

They don't make rock stars like they used to. With one obvious exception...

LONDON - Police arrested Pete Doherty on Monday in east London on suspicion of drug possession.

A police spokesman confirmed a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and was in custody at an east London police station. Because of police force rules, he could not name the suspect.

You almost have to admire his endurance.

... and a true doofus. Doherty has had leniency that lesser drug offenders can only dream of, yet he's basically just taking the piss. Yeah, I guess rock stars have the societal obligation to revel in excess on behalf of those of us who must show up for work, but isn't the point to NOT get caught?

Jordan, I agree. I'm by no means draconian but I'm tired of hearing about Doherty being arresting, going to court, getting probation; being arrested, going to court, getting probation; being arrested etc. etc.

Anyone else with his list of drugs offences (not to mention public order offences etc.) would be banged up for quite a stretch at this stage. I'm not pro-prison for drugs offenders but it should be one rule for all nonetheless.
