My sympathy goes out to the drivers who unknowingly filled their tanks with contaminated fuel. They must be recompensed by the garages who supplied them. My car runs on diesel which after filling up at Tescos yesterday appears to be unaffected.'' liamssoft

Retailers offer car repair refund

DRIVERS in Northampton are facing bills of more than £1,000 after filling up their cars with allegedly contaminated fuel.

Garages in the town yesterday told the Chronicle & Echo they had dealt with about 30 unhappy motorists whose cars had to be drained of what they believed to be contaminated petrol.
