NP Rank:
Philadelphia's Comcast Center
On Tuesday August 7th, 2007, I went on a tour of the yet unfinished Comcast Center. I got as high as the windowless 55th floor where the only thing between me and the Canadian granite 900' below was 1" thick steel cord roping and my sense of balance. I took ~150 shots during the hour I was on site. Not as many as I would've liked to take, but I had to give myself some time to soak it all in. I took a moment at each face of the building.
Looking South, I could see the city's familiar tall buildings from river to river. To the West I could see the Cira Centre across the river as small as a model. Northward is a view of the Parkway streaking to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. To the East, a view of the area of town I call home.
This once in a lifetime opportunity was thanks to Liberty Property Trust.
