TruemorsThe Tolbooth was built in 1576 when it housed the public weights and measures office and the jail.
The neighbouring Town hall was built in 1887 the year of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The commemorative Jubilee Lamp was erected at The Cross at that time.
