Pimps Employing Prostitutes From Job Ad Pages

Looking for a job in my local newspaper's job ad pages, there was four and half pages of job ads, I found three job adverts for prostitutes! Luton in Bedfordshire, England is a large town, larger than some English cities and has a healthy, or unhealthy - depending how you look at it, sex trade in the town. Apart from the low-rent street walkers on the same streets they've always walked you have "massage parlours" and "escort agencies." The only people who don't know that these "massage parlours" and "escort agencies" are girls, or boys, selling themselves for sex are people who are deliberately looking the other way. Like the police for instance.

So the local Sunday paper, The Luton on Sunday, have always advertised the "massage parlours" and "escort agencies." I've always wondered if anyone with a bad back has rung up for an appointment for a massage and been a little surprised by the masseuse's actions. This new, increasing trend for allowing job adverts for prostitutes is a little worrying. Having sex for money with someone is always an option for people but should pimps be allowed to prey on the desperate via the local paper's job ads?

It's ironic because The Luton on Sunday quite often make out that they are the people's champion, crusading against injustice. However here they are providing the means for people to get employed in prostitution and then providing the means for them to ply their trade.

Newspaper ad prostitution is like all things in this country, the American way.  Whatever sells, sell it! In today's economy be careful, that escort may very well be someone you know.
