Plan to secure Bagdhad a failure, US General Says
This is a big deal.
A month ago, US command realized it had to control the sectarian violence around Bagdhad if it was to have any impact on improving the lives of Iraqis, and giving some room for its new government to succeed.
It has all failed, and spectacularly.
The American-led crackdown in Baghdad has not succeeded in reducing a âdishearteningâ level of violence across the capital and a new approach is needed, a military spokesman said today.
