May Meetup - May 25, 2005 Owing to the great interest in using music in podcasts legally from our first meeting I have invited Kevin J. Heller, an Intellectual Property Lawyer who also podcasts, to speak at the May 25th meeting. Kevin Heller is an intellectual property and internet law attorney in New York City. He has no affiliation with RIAA, ASCAP or any other media industry organization. He is also the editor of the Tech Law Advisor weblog which provides information and commentary on breaking issues at the intersection of intellectual property law, technology and the internet. He has worked at intellectual property litigation boutiques handling both plaintiff and defense work in the areas of copyright, trademark, domain names and libel/defamation matters. He has continued to represent, advise and counsel individuals and corporations on such matters. He is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. This is a great opportunity to ask questions from an independent lawyer on the legal issues surrounding using licensed music in podcasts. I personally am looking forward to this and hope to see you all there.

for me info check out the NYC Podcasting Association website.
