Here is an exclusive from AlwaysOn by Andy Plesser. I am very unclear why  a defense contractor that got paid out of our tax money to develop a "national security technology application, developed to fight terrorism" gets to now use this technology to catalog all the videos on youtube.

Andy Plesser did not ask or at least write about who paid for the tool and who is benefitting. Nor did he ask about who else besides beet.tv is getting access to what is found in the transcripts of tapes. Does the govt. get a copy of videos with certain words in it?

AlwaysOn is a business oriented publication, but this story ought to have some light shed on it by people interested in civil liberties and some like me that are simply interested in how our tax money is spent.

Very important stuff. Basically, it looks like our tax money is being used against us, all in the name of "national security", that tired, nebulous phrase used to justify government addiction to private information.

Also, "nearly 80 percent accurate" is of particular concern. If you are amongst the more-than-twenty-percent, you may well have the daunting task of assuaging government terrornoia. Not an enviable position to find yourself in.
