Police: Athlete's sex case unreported for weeks
What happens when a star athlete gets in the sort of trouble that's likely to get the person in question booted off the team? Is is similar to when a politician gets into trouble, say with Congressional pages...?
This is not theoretical for administrators at the Northwestern Senior High School. In an exclusive story broken today at the Miami Herald, it appears school officials tried to have an investigating police officer demoted as she was digging into evidence that a football player might be guilty of a sexual offence. Her investigation happened during a championship season, so go figure who came out on top.
Administrators at Miami Northwestern Senior High learned of star football player Antwain Easterling's alleged sexual encounter with an underage girl midway through the school's championship season but never reported it to law enforcement, a schools police investigation has found. The revelation comes amid allegations from the schools police union that the detective who led the investigation was transferred and her pay was cut after she produced a detailed report outlining more than six weeks of silence.
