More than 370 police officers carried out a series of drug raids in Quebec and New Brunswick Wednesday in a crackdown on the export of marijuana to the United States.

As part of Project Aorte/Julien, Quebec provincial police and the RCMP conducted 26 raids in the province. Another eight raids were carried out in New Brunswick.

Police executed 55 arrest warrants in Quebec and 18 in New Brunswick.

"It's a huge operation because we're starting from the little person that sells on the street to the person that's the head of the whole organization," Quebec Police Sgt. Chantal Mackels told CTV Newsnet.
