Anti-islamists 9/11 demonstrators in Brussels are subjected to extreme
abuse by the riot police. The 200 demonstrators had permission to have
a peaceful anti islamist and 9/11 solidarity demonstration.

The week's biggest story garnered little press and few comments. But, in a significant way, this overlooked story -- an outrageous display of police force in Brussels on Sept. 11, 2007 -- symbolizes the missing link in our flawed comprehension of both Iraq and Sept. 11.

There, in the so-called capital of Europe, 200 people marked the day with a protest against the Islamization of Europe -- a civilizational shift which, as Europe increasingly accommodates Shariah (Islamic law), is shockingly advanced. Indeed, Middle East expert Bernard Lewis has already predicted Europe will become Islamic by century's end. Absent a reversal of Islamization (which remains possible) I'm guessing sooner than that.

we see black-clad
Belgian policemen brutalizing a man in a light-colored suit and tie.
His hands are cuffed behind his back, his right elbow is clasped in
what is known as an arm-bar hold, and he is also being subjected to a
genital hold -- a vicious grip that, a retired cop friend of mine tells
me, would get any American policeman thrown off the force.

The
man under arrest was Frank Vanhecke, president of the Flemish
secessionist party Vlaams Belang and a member of European Parliament.
Also arrested and beaten was Filip Dewinter, who, as the leading
politician of Vlaams Belang, Belgium's largest opposition party, has
personally garnered 25 percent of the electorate. (You can find a
picture of Belgian police forcing Dewinter to the ground online at kleinverzet.blogspot.com

This is an interesting twist of what really happened merrie. Vlaams Belang is by world standards is a Rightest that is far to the right of even GOP's most virulant crusaders. They have been causeing trouble in the EU for some time and he is a committed Islamophobe. Under the Race hate laws of Europe, introduced post War, it is an offence to incite racial hatred. Most countries are signatories to this legislation. The USA is not one of them. Here is a look at how the party he is attached to faired in the last elections.

[extract] The self-declared Islamophobic and Flemish-secessionist Vlaams Belang
[Flemish Interest], which until yesterday was Antwerp's largest party,
gained a few extra votes, winning 33.5% of the vote (33.0% last time).
Its number of seats remains steady at 20. Antwerp politics is now
defined by a polarization between Socialists and the VB. Apart from the
VB all parties lost heavily to the Socialists (-7.3% for the Liberals
and -6.4% for the Greens). The only party able to avoid being swallowed
by the Socialists are the Christian-Democrats. They won 11.2% of the
votes, adding an extra 0.1%, and kept their six seats. The
Christian-Democrats, too, had put forward immigrant candidates. Two of
their elected candidates, one third of the total, are Muslims: Nahima
Lanjri and Ergn Top.

Hi Sth,

I tried to upload the YouTube Video, but it's not supported by this format. But, in any case the photos

demonstrate the unjustified police violence, which if that were to happen here, those officers would, at

the very least, be suspended and there would be an internal investigation. Maybe you can give it a go.

The title of the YouTube follows::http://video.google.com/?tab=wv&hl=en

Peacful demonstrators attacked by Brussels police

Check it out.

It wont upload because it is Google video.

I watched both of the video's there and I have to say it was nothing. First, it was obviouly an Illeagal protest in a restricted area, designed to be a Media stunt.

Second, All the three people who were on the reciving end of the police, all resisted arrest, so the use of froce was justified 100%. They acted in a very mild way. I saw no beatings just people being wrestled to the ground. There was some suggestion of someone being hit but it looked like clever editing and the guy took a dive. One person who refused to get on the bus and tried to block the door from closing with his hand got a Rap on the knuckles. Big Deal.

Third, Using 9/11 as a platform for there (Neo-Nazi's as some would call them)  Nationalist agenda was rather repugnent.

Fourth. If you want too see police beating the crap out of protesters and the Media, just have a look at some of the vids from APEC i posted. That was all because G.W.Bush was in town. Actually where ever he shows up there is police brutality as I am sure you would know from living in the USA.

and lastly Using this footage was a deliberate attempt to rubbish the EU. and obscure the facts concerning the event. This protest really had nothing to do with 9/11 and was all about a struggling political party attempting to incite racial hatred. The EU has very strong laws concerning this, and I found the video rather disturbing in the context it was posted under. These Laws were introduced after Nuerumberg to protect religous minorities. For example when ever someone even mentions the word Nazi in europe, they find themselves in a lot of trouble. I wonder how the poster of this video would have reacted if he was aware of the Neo-Nazi links to this group. These people were in trouble last year for flying the Swas Stika and beating the crap out of 4 Israeli tourists.

Thanks gmony714,

I've never had a desire to live under any system that claims that poverty creates terrorism. They got it

backwards. Terrorism creates poverty.
