Blogger Seeks Performers for Rudy Song Parody

Several weeks ago, the idea entered my mind to rewrite the lyrics to the song, Ruby, which was first made famous by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition in 1969. In the parody, the words are those of Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee as if sung to his fellow GOP presidential hopeful, Rudy Giuliani.

More recently, I asked Chris Nandor (a.k.a., “Pudge”) at pudge.net if he would be interested in recording the song in much the same manner as he recorded a song and video for the CNN-YouTube GOP Debate (see GOP CNN-YouTube Debate Song Offers Humor for more details.) I would, however, appreciate anyone taking a stab at recording these lyrics for YouTube stardom. The only caveats I have are as follows:

• You have to give me credit for writing the parody lyrics;

• You have to include the name and web address of my blog — Bob McCarty Writes™ at www.BobMcCarty.com — prominently in the video; and, finally

• You have to forward the YouTube URL for the video to me immediately after (let’s say within 10 minutes) you upload the video to YouTube.
