The DPR strongly protested the rough treatment because as a neighbouring country, Malaysia has done something which may be seen as an act of humiliation.

"I have received a lot of short messages and reports from the people among others suggesting if we should treat Malaysia like we did years ago," he said, adding he had urged the people not to be too emotional in facing the issue although they were very angry about it, he said.

He said the DPR appealed to Malaysia to look back into its security personnel rough attitude on Indonesians that had happened many times.

"We also ask Malaysia to ask for an apology," he said.
