The House Speaker said many quarters had voiced concern about the declining sense of nationalism and patriotism among the younger generation in the country because many of them did not care about national problems and even about themselves."They do not care about their own problems, let alone about the nation`s problems," Agung said at the seminar which was organized by the Study Center of Law and Development (PSHK) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Indonesia`s historic "Youth Pledge" on October 28.
In the midst of the diminishing sense of nationalism and patriotism, it was feared that the majority of Indonesia`s younger generation was trapped in drug abuse, global culture and promiscuity, Agung said.
