The Khiam Detention Center, located in southern Lebanon, was a former French barrack complex originally built in the 1930s. It became a base for the Lebanese army before falling under control of the South Lebanon Army (SLA) and in 1985 was converted into a detention and interrogation centre. It remained in use for detention and interrogation of Lebanese civilians until Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon in May 2000, and the subsequent collapse of the SLA.
Amnesty and Human Rights Watch reported of the use of torture and other serious abuses in the facility.[citation needed]
Israel has denied any involvement in Khiam, claiming to have delegated operation of the centre to the South Lebanon Army (SLA) as far back as 1988

ABOU ALI
A detainee during the Israeli occupation tells of the conditions he endured.
He spoke of how the methods of torture were being administered, being tied up and hung from his wrists. He was beaten, then cold water thrown on him followed by hot water. They (the Israelis) would have dogs barking at him while hung. They would also put him in the red box, with a bag over his head hands behind his back and beat on the box. He also said they would bring family members to the prison and deface them in front of him.
"They would do cruel things, it pained me"

Robert Fisk, the British journalist who has spent 25 years informing from Lebanon

Very Good Story and Pics. Something you would not see in the regular media. Hopefully we as humans can learn from things like this and make changes in the other direction.
