Hillary has some major frustrations in her camp these days. Howard Dean's camp was more focused on winning and putting there own policy issues to the forefront than they were going after the establishment. Obama's camp is more savvy in portraying the Clinton camp as being a part of an establishment that's clearly more concerned with winning and special interest than they are about tackling the problems of average everyday Americans.
1. The media's fascination with Obama's story. As much as Obama like to say he's not well known around the country, he's doing a much better job than an anyone could have hoped for with his short term in the US Senate. The reason why is that major media love his story and they are energized around the possibility of the first major Black ("clean") candidate going after the establishment. And some are even mystified about an Afro-American leading the nation.
2. Hillary's major frustration is running away from the issues surrounding the failures of the nineties while celebrating its successes. "Turn the page" is a very persuasive argument.
3. There is a point at which many will ask can we have an end to the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton hold on power. The US is one of the greatest countries in the history of the world and many will ask is their anyone else.
4. For too long we've dealt with the politics of polarization and the Red vs. Blue State arguments of the past. Some will look for a unifier in the vein of what 'W' promised almost eight years ago.
5. One of the things that Obama have going for her is the fact that he might be to inexperience in Washington politics to be corrupted at this point. Hillary brings a lot of baggage from the nineties that she hoped would not resurface so soon. She was getting geared up for this fight in the general election an ignoring her Democratic counterparts. Now she's pulling out the money and assembling her machine for a battle to get out of the primary to fight off charges of not being truthful and being scripted.
6. John Edwards John Edwards John Edwards; Obama is a John-Edwards-Lite in his argument against Hillary, but for Edwards it's an all or nothing ordeal where he is willing to launch an all out assault against Hillary, that will damage the party as a whole, to win. Unfortunately Hillary have to point guns at Edwards and Obama. It would've been much more convenient to focus on one threat.
7. The vote on the Iraq War and the decision to not apologize for fearing it would appears too weak might come back to haunt her during the last month of the campaign. When folks step behind the curtain, Hillary's image will appear in the minds of hundreds and the Iraq War and how she articulated her mistake.
8. Hillary headache is also the Republican field of candidates willing to take shots at Hillary at this time and the worry of doing something like the Immigration License debacle that could be used against her in the future.
9. Hillary's is still the frontrunner and another challenge will be the ability to unify her party after a very heated primary...if Obama's star continue to rise and more Republicans come over she will be forced to put Obama on her ticket. If Obama would continued with a weak campaign of hope, she could've ignored him. He would bring too much energy and oh yeah money to the campaign to be ignored now. Obama's cousin, Cheney was right in saying Obama would be the likely VP pick.
10. Bill Clinton Bill Clinton Bill Clinton...Al Gore tried hard to get away from the man in 2000. It's going to be hard using Bill's strengths for fear of reminding Independents of his ethical shortcomings.
