Najib: court cases involving RI workers not being handled properly

He said there was an impression that the Malaysian government was protecting the employers whereas in reality it was the legal processes that were not running well.

Razak made the remarks at a seminar held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Malaysia on Monday night.

He, therefore, pledged to urge the Malaysian courts to settle the cases involving maltreated Indonesian workers.

The cases should be handled well as Indonesian workers had contributed much to the Malaysian government, he said.

If there were no Indonesian workers, Malaysia`s industry would not function as it should for lack of manpower, he added.
