Benazir Bhutto killed in bomb blast: in shocking news Benazir Bhutto has been reportedly been killed after .. http://tinyurl.com/ywbh4s
"Teeth" is a dentist from Karachi, according to Amy Gahran in E-Media Tidbits. Thanks to Amy for the concise explanation of the situation. She has been following news from inside Pakistan during the media clamp-down by the government via "Teeth's" twitter posts. For any journalists and news hounds in general, the "snitter" interface which makes "Twitter" a bit easier to follow is probably something you need to use regularly. Don't take my word for it, read Amy's post  but even better, check it out for yourself.

I'm following John Dickerson's twitters from the campaign trail, and I actually found out about the Bhutto assassination because I was logging into twitter because someone had just decided to "follow" my posts. It may seem ultra geeky, but 2008 is going to see us moving to WiMax and mobile phones more than our laptops to follow and report news, so you might as well try it out sooner, rather than later.

Your post shows how micro-blogging is a great tool for covering breaking news. Thanks for sharing!

I just got a BlackBerry; it sure is a pleasure to cut the umbilical cord from my computer. Mobile phones will dominate both reporting and consumption of breaking news.
