Obama’s Brother to Capture Nation’s Attention
Arguably the most colorful presidential sibling of my lifetime, Billy Carter became well known to the American public as Jimmy Carter’s beer-drinking brother. In similar fashion, Roger Clinton gained notoriety as Bill Clinton’s drug-abusing, ex-con brother. Now, another politician’s sibling stands on the verge of capturing the nation’s attention.
Unlike Billy Carter or Roger Clinton, Abongo “Roy” Obama will likely attract attention as First Brother for reasons other than his personal addictions if Barack Hussein Obama wins election in 2008 as the nation’s 44th president.
According to Investor’s Business Daily reports (see here and here), the older half-brother of the upstart Democrat presidential candidate is a militant Muslim activist in Kenya who has urged his younger brother to embrace his African heritage and supports implementation of Sharia law in a country that, until recently, has been regarded as among the most pro-Western and modern African nations.
Paying attention to two critical details reported by IBD, one might surmise that Roy has succeeded in convincing his brother to embrace his African heritage. Those details are as follows:
In 1991, when Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, he pledged allegiance to something called the Black Value System, which is a code of non-Biblical ethics written by blacks, for blacks.
and
In short, Obama’s “unashamedly black” church preaches the politics of black nationalism. And its dashiki-wearing preacher — who married Obama and his wife and now acts as his personal spiritual adviser — is militantly Afrocentric. “We are an African people,” the Rev. Jeremiah Wright reminds his flock, “and remain true to our native land, the mother continent.”
While beer drinking and illicit drug use is frowned upon by many, Abongo “Roy” Obama’s vices — the Black Value System, militant Afrocentric views and radical Islamic beliefs — pose far greater dangers to the American way of life. That in mind, I hope all Americans recognize these dangers before they have impact decisions made in the Oval Office.

BMC:
It's good stuff.
Here is a link that lays out the agenda of the church that Barack Obama has been an active member of for the last twenty years - Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC):
http://maxine-log.blogspot.com/2008/01/ideating-barack-obama-trinity-united.html
What is funny is that there are serious democrats that feel a dream ticket would include Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in ANY direction - President and Vice-President!
What a nightmare.

Hello BMC.,
This is the wording of the The Black Value System.
Here's an excerpt:
"Basic education for all Blacks should include Mathematics, Science, Logic, General Semantics, Participative Politics, Economics and Finance, and the Care and Nurture of Black minds."
Participative Politics - I guess Obama is doing his bit for the movement then.
This was a good article and an important one to share with the public - thank you.

This article needs improvement and provision of resources. It is misleading and heavily biased, leading the reader to a conclusion that lacks intellectual honesty. I hope the author may review the piece and edit in favour of a more professional and balanced perspective.
if the author begins with comparisons to the wayward siblings of past presidents, whom in light of their misconduct bare no influence on the conduct of their presidential brothers; then why does the author suggest that the political leanings of the brother of a current presidential candidate has any influence on the candidate himself? this is an unprofessional and condradictory suggestion, and serves merely as propaganda based on little to no evidence.
I would suggest you check your articles intellectual honesty in the name of professional journalism.

yatata -- It appears you're outnumbered, 2 to 1, by folks who rated this article as "Good Stuff." Perhaps you're the one who's biased and doesn't want to admit there's a cloud hanging over your candidate, Barack Obama.

I actually agree with yatata, and not because Barack is my candidate (he is not, BTW).
I'm looking for more details about Abongo Obama and Odinga in relation to Barack, but this article reads more like a gossip snippet. It's a good start, it just needs some more substance and less luridness (I think the angle of "wayward Presidential brothers" gets me).
