Obamania: The View From Europe

In Richard Cohen’s op-ed for the Post today, he plays a very nasty game of guilt by association. Because Barack Obama belongs to the ostensibly controversial Trinity United Church of Christ, in Chicago, and because the minister there, Reverand Jeremiah Wright, in the pages of an in-house magazine he publishes, “heaped praise on” Louis Farakkhan as a man who “truly epitomized greatness,” Obama must disavow, um, wait, who exactly? Minister Farrakhan? Reverend Wright? It’s not entirely clear from Cohen’s article.

What is clear, though, is that the there’s an effort underway to paint Barack Obama as bad for the Jews. If you’re Jewish, and perhaps even if you’re not, you’ve likely received a piece of hateful spam informing you that Obama is Muslim, or half Muslim, or 3/5 Muslim — just for counting purposes, of course — or some other ill-founded crap. You know that he was also educated at a madrassa, don’t you? Well, don’t you? He’s radical. And a terrorist.

But the plot thinkens.  As Josh Marshall points out, it appears as though NewsMax is involved.

* I am Catholic, many Catholic priests have been involved in pedophilia ... I certainly do NOT agree with that. But, I am still a Catholic.

* I'm Catholic and I am pro-choice. My priest, who is my spiritual leader, joins protests against Planned Parenthood. I don't agree with him on that.

* My Catholic priest, also blamed United States foreign policy as the ultimate reason for 9/11. I don't agree with him on that.

Should I be held personally responsible for pedophile priests? Or, Pro-Life priests? Or, priests who have said the US foreign policy gave rise to 9/11? NO!

Voter turn out has been staggeringly LOW over the last 2 decades ... Because voters have been sick and tired of the kitchen sink strategy for over 2 decades.

The voters REJECT that type of strategy. The latest is the re-birth of the Rev. Wright videos. The voters are NOT as stupid as some politicians think we are -- the media is being used as a tool and the voters can see that.

If you hop down to Starbucks, as a regular person not a media person, you will hear a new buzz. The buzz is Hillary Clinton is so desperate she has stooped to a new low.

The voters are simply not embracing the Rev. Wright video as a negative to Obama. The average voter is actually blaming Hillary for this.

Bottom line, Hillary Clinton is on the verge of losing the Democratic nod. She is desperate and her desperation is only going to cost the democrats the White House. She will not win the election in November even if she does con her way as the Democratic nominee.

I am a white woman and because of the way Hillary has campaigned I would NOT vote for her in the General Election.
