Presidential spokesman accuses Megawati of promoting herself

"Therefore, we can rightfully ask who is actually promoting himself or herself?," Andi said at Halim Perdanakusuma airport here Monday before departing for Singapore as a mmber of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s entourage to attend the 13th ASEAN Summit.

Andi made the statement when asked to comment on former President Megawati`s tour across Java since Saturday, Nov 17. She was recently nominated by her party to run again in the 2009 presidential election.

Yudhoyono`s spokesman was referring to the fact that Megawati had once said the incumbent president was not doing anything significant and only often touring the country to "sow charm" among the people.
