"As a zoologist, the prince is so keenly interested in the collection of animals, especially fishes and birds, especially free-range chickens. He spent some time in the DNA lab of our chickens, trying to understand the development of the relevant genetic analysis," Head of the Biological Training Center Dr Dedy Darnaedi said.
Dedy said that the researchers at the LIPI training center had conducted a research on free-range chickens on the basis of some of the prince`s publications. Prince Akishino is an Oxford Universithy graduate.
The construction of two buildings at the Cibinong Science Center, LIPI chief Umar A Jenie said, namely the Zoological Museum and the Herbarium in the site of the collection of the flora spesimen, was funded by Japan with 40 million US dollars in 1996 and 1997.
