Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday officially opened the 13th OANA General Assembly which will take place until December 13 in Jakarta.

In accordance with the aims declared at its founding in 1961, OANA has been fighting for the establishment of a new world information order in which information flow is no longer dominated by the western mass media.

OANA`s membership is made up of the national news agencies of Afghanistan, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, North Korea, United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhtan, Kuwait, Kyrgyztan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, the Philippines, Qatar, South Korea, Rusia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam and Yemen.
