RI urged to encourage democratization in Myanmar

"Indonesia must take firm and concrete steps supporting political reforms in Burma (currently Myanmar)," the coalition said in a press statement issued on Thursday.

The coalition also asked President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to reject the military junta`s repressive actions in dealing with political upheavals in the country, demand the release of detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, and press for the holding of dialogs between the junta and the opposition group.
