Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, warned against war in Iran today.
As the US prepare a UN draft resolution against Iran, both Russia and China have indicated that they might not support it.
"We are convinced that no modern problem has a military solution, and that applies to the Iranian nuclear programme as well," said Mr Lavrov.

These remarks follow Frances tougher stance towareds Iran
President Nicolas Sarkozy has toughened France's approach towards Teheran and the rhetoric from Paris is now almost as hawkish as anything emerging from Washington.
Yesterday, Mr Kouchner [the French foreign minister - TAM] called for tougher 'precise' sanctions against the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme."
Britain and France will push for the EU to adopt unilatural sanctions with Iran - worth $18 Billion.

Didnt Russia and China say the same thing before the Iraq attack....... and where are they now? I saw Russian planes on a daily basis in Iraq, also saw Spetznatz troops up close...was within 10 ft of them during a patriot detail (funeral for the fallen) look for info like that in the main stream media. Don't act as if this is indicative of Russia and China militarily aligning themselves with Iran, tis a plain misrepresentation for the purpose of steering readers toward a tin foil hat position.

Eh? If there is misrepresentation I feel it is is in your response!
Where is there any implication in this article {my words or the Telegraph orgional story} that, as you say"this is indicative of Russia and China militarily aligning themselves with Iran" ??????????
What this article does say is that the Russian and Chinise governments may not align themselves with the US when it comes to any future US Security resolutions. Interestingly it looks as though Europe, for once, will come into line with the US.
But since you mention military, modern Chinese weaponry are showing up in Afghanistan and that weaponry is becoming inreasingly sophisticated. But even that does not mean that this, to quote you again.... is indicative of Russia and China militarily aligning themselves with Iran.
Perhaps your objection is to the photo - I can see how you might find that misleading. I picked it because of the flags behind the soldier. I still think it is appropriate. Not perfect - I wish I could have found a Russian and a Chinese soldier behind their country's flags. The symbolism would then have been perfect.
I cannot believe you read the "orgional story". Criticism has to have substance rather than just finger wagging.
