A suicide bomber blew himself up among a group of politicians in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday, injuring and killing dozens of people, officials said.

Initial details were scarce, but one lawmaker told the Associated Press that at least 20 people died in the blast, while many more were wounded. A hospital official told Reuters that more than 90 were killed.

At least six parliamentarians are said to be among the dead, including former Afghan commerce minister Sayed Mustafa Kazimi, politician Faizullah Zaki said.
