"The results of a survey conducted by a TNI headquarters` team show about 60 percent of TNI members will not exercise their voting right in the 2009 general election," he said on the sidelines of a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) here Monday.

The survey results were final and would be handed to the DPR to decide whether or not the TNI members would vote in 2009, the minister said, adding that the TNI members should vote in 2014 as they had yet to enjoy adequate welfare.

"If in the next few years, TNI members enjoy better welfare, there will be no worry that they will be invited by political parties to take part in practical politics," he said.
