A politician in Thailand has been accused of trying to buy votes - by handing out packets of Viagra.
The allegation, made by a campaign worker against a rival party, comes as rules about handing out favours to voters have become stricter than ever.Candidates are now barred from distributing even free T-shirts and soft drinks.
Sayan Nopcha, a campaigner for the People’s Power Party in Pathum Thai province just north of Bangkok, said the drug - used to treat sexual dysfunction in men - was being distributed to elderly male voters at social functions.
Viagra is supposed to be used only on a doctor’s advice, but is generally available over the counter in Thailand.

mpress, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. Or worse -- getting paid by those you cover -- so it's transparent and independent. I also think you deserve praise for being an eyewitness, and for your investigative efforts. Good stuff.
