[Theo van Gogh and] "Education By Murder" in Holland

Some four years ago, Dutch society was jolted by a savage daylight stabbing of a highly controversial film maker theo van Gogh.
Related to Vincent, van gogh had made a name for himself  with an agressive, inflamatory film, based on the writing of ayaan hirsi, where he projected pages of the koran on a woman's mude body.
Why did he use this stratgy?
No doubt to antagonise muslims, and to exacerbate racial tension.
He got a reaction.
And dutch politics swung to the right
Now the story is repeating itself.
another rightwing attempt to spread hate and cause more retaliation.

The official opening has been posponed due to strong opposition from many moderates..

Geert Wilders is his name, and a story is up now

Isn't it time people really thought about why these Killings are
largely motivated from a particular religion? What is there in this
particular belief that makes people kill and attack and become human
bombs ?

I do not believe that Islam - the followers of which amount to more
than 1 billion - advocates these directly. It certainly is not a hate
ideology. This is quite clear, but the motivation of their stance
remains primarily Islam. This is also very clear.

How do we resolve this paradox?

Is it the current situation of arabs and muslims? Overbeared by the
prominence of the west and crippled by the imperialistic adventures of
the stronger nation..... What happens - if a muslim- harbouring such
complexes find a deliberate hate propaganda being let out at this/her
neighbourhood? What if there are even some organizations which foster
such beliefs in young muslims....

Would this be an explanation?

Can we have an explanation? Can anyone share their thoughts?

One day after the murder, 20,000 demonstrators gathered to denounce the killing, and 30 people were arrested for inciting hatred against Muslims. The interior minister, Johan Remkes, announced that he could not rule out unrest. "The climate is seriously hardened." Proving him right, the next two weeks saw more than 20 arson and bombing attacks and counterattacks on mosques, churches, and other institutions, plus some major police raids, giving the country the feel of a small-scale civil war.

Dutch attitudes toward Muslims immediately and dramatically hardened. A poll found 40% of the population wanting the nearly million-strong Muslim community no longer to feel at home in the Netherlands. Double that number endorsed more stringent policies toward immigrants.

De Telegraaf, a leading paper, published an editorial unimaginable before the van Gogh murder calling for "a very public crackdown on extremist Muslim fanatics." Even left-wing politicians woke up to the need to speak "harsh truths" about immigration, focusing on the disproportionate criminality of Muslims.

Islamist terrorism in the West is counterproductive because it awakens the sleeping masses; in brief, jihad provokes crusade. A more cunning Islamist enemy would advance its totalitarian agenda through Mafia-like intimidation,
