2008 New Hampshire State Primary Results
A Closer Look At The Count
I heard Brad from
bradblog talking about this issue on the radio. According to Brad, "he has no dog" in Democratic hunt, but is concerned about the process and transparency. Sure, I'm no believer in polls as always the answer to everything, but there what would it hurt to do a sample pull and compare paper ballots to the Diebold vote counts in a few precincts. If there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to hide.
Anyone remember "
Hacking Democracy" on HBO? These are the same voting machines featured in that exposé.
In the course of her research, which unearthed hundreds of reported incidents of mishandled voting information, Harris stumbled across an "online library" of the Diebold Corporation, discovering a treasure trove of information about the inner-workings of the company's voting system.

By going with such obviously broken voting machines, we're putting ourselves in a similar position to Kenya. If the vote itself can't be trusted, then we're in serious, serious trouble.

biverson, you raise important and appropriate questions...for a country built on the notion of checks and balances, this type of check should be standard. Thanks for posting.
