TNI to continue maintaining neutrality, army chief says

Army Chief of Staff Djoko Santoso, the would-be Indonesian military chief, said that the Indonesian Military (TNI) was committed to maintaining neutrality and would not be siding to certain political groups or involved in politic.

"TNI will also not become a member of KPK (the Corruption Eradication Commission) because there is no regulations on that matter," he said here on Friday in response to the press questions.

"At present, TNI is concentrating on the state`s tasks and doing its utmost to improve the welfare of its personnel and TNI`s professionalism in delivering its services to protect the country and its peopple," he said.
