US consulate general observes regional election in S. Sulawesi

Before making the observation, US Consulate General official Jeffrey Loree visited South Sulawesi Regional Election Commission (KPUD) to obtain various information related to the process of the first ever direct regional election in the province.

In spite of the fact that there were several problems in the stages of election, Loree admitted that it ran smoothly and democratically.

He did not comment too much on the election but admitted that he was happy with it because the democratic process in the province could run well as being expected.
