Senior American intelligence and defence officials believe that President George W Bush and his inner circle are taking steps to place America on the path to war with Iran, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt.
There are an ever increasing number of articles appearing on NowPublic pointing to war with Iran. This is is on the front page of a Conservative British broadsheet and this is the biggest confirmation of Us policy intentions to date as it comes from a Pentagon insider.
Pentagon and CIA officers say they believe that the White House has begun a carefully calibrated programme of escalation that could lead to a military showdown with Iran.

Because of ther complexities of the Iranian government The White House has failed to identify its political strengths. President Ahmadinejad is just one part of the Iranian triumvirate - the Clerics and the Revolutionary Guard being the others on this three headed monster. They operate independently of each other. But because of his failed poilicies, not least with the US, Ahmadinejad is in a very weak position and becoming weaker. So far, the US administration has failed to drive this political advantage home. If they did so they would be adding to the inevitable implosion of the existing regime. Unfortunately the US can only see Iran in military terms. The military option will not only unite the three parts of the Iranian government and save Ahmadinejad's career, but will also unite the Iranian people behind them. In other words the outcome will be the exact opposite of what the US desires.
