Wesley Clark is asking Congress to take Rush off Armed Forces Radio:

Last week, Rush Limbaugh labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as "phony." We challenged Limbaugh through an email campaign to invite VoteVets.org's Jon Soltz to his show and repeat these same insults to an Iraq war veteran's face. Over 10,000 people responded and emailed Rush -- but to our disappointment, he has refused to respond to our request.

You seem to be participating in an ugly smear of Rush Limbaugh.  Anyone who has ever listened to him knows he supports our military 100% and did not say what you are implying.

According to Media Matters:

"Washington, DC - As
the controversy over Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comments continues to
grow, Media Matters for America
would like to highlight the falsehoods that Limbaugh, America's top conservative talk-radio
host, has used to claim that he was taken out of context.

Limbaugh claims he referred only to
Jesse MacBeth, but smeared other veterans

Misinformation: On
September 28, Limbaugh asserted that his "phony soldiers" comment was a
reference to Jesse MacBeth, who pleaded guilty to one count of making false
statements to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for pretending to be an
injured Iraq war veteran.

Fact: Limbaugh did
not refer to MacBeth during his September 26 broadcast until 1 minute and 50
seconds after making his "phony soldiers" comment. Indeed, at no point during
his September 26 radio show did Limbaugh refer to any soldiers he considered to
be fake prior to making his "phony soldiers" comment.

Moreover, as the blog Crooks and Liars and Media Matters noted, in the September 28
broadcast, Limbaugh expanded the group of "phony soldiers" to include Vietnam
veteran Rep. John P. Murtha (D-PA) and Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp, who is
currently serving in Iraq. In asserting that he was originally "talking about a
genuine phony soldier," Limbaugh went on to state: "And by the way, Jesse
MacBeth's not the only one. How about this guy Scott Thomas who was writing
fraudulent, phony things in The New
Republic
about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about Jack
Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines at Haditha engaged in wanton
murder of innocent children and civilians?"

I've also added the infamous clip.  His "phony soldiers" remarks are near the end with the second caller.

mtippett, damn good stuff.  For someone who claims to support the troops and American ideals, this contradiction to the right of U.S. service personnel to dissent politically from the White House should be called on.

they can't touch Rush that is why these liberals who care so much about free speech want to interpret what he said. they want to silence him and they need to change the subject of their failure to confront Bush on the war. They are cowards and this is how they fight. these people never even listen to his show.

You are right on.  They smeared Goldwater with the "daisy" ad;  then Bork by going through his garbage; then Donovan; then they got Anita to lie about Thomas; then Bush with the Texas pickup truck ad; now O'Reilly and Rush in the same week.  These are only a few of hundreds of smears and smear attempts.  Now Reid, who has insulted our troops over and over and called the war "lost" has the nerve to issue this ridiculous letter.  And Wesley Clark, no matter what you do, Hillary is not going to ask you to be her VP.

Here is audio from the show.  You decide what he means.

I heard the show.  I knew exactly what he was saying as would anyone not looking to smear him.

Media matters is a George Soros Hillary Clinton attack arm. The people who work for media matters work for Hillary. I wonder who the troops trust the Dems who have been insulting them since the war started and declaring defeat or Rush. This is political destruction run by some of the best at it. they make Nixon's enemies list look like childs play. David Brock who runs media matters claims he was a conservative once and a Clinton enemy but that was also a lie. And was discredited when he says that the articles he wrote about Clinton were false. He has been paid and a sellout.
