In a major document released overnight, Pope Benedict has called for a renewed emphasis on classical Catholic teachings and principles. One of them is the notion that Catholics who re-marry should live in their new married life as brother and sister, as opposed to man and wife. As well, he reiterated that celibacy is a priceless treasure and that Sunday's should be reserved for the Lord, which means no work on those days.
Pope Benedict reiterated his strong opposition to remarried Catholics and non-Catholic Christians taking part in the Eucharist and invited priests to refrain from celebrating the Mass during weddings or funerals attended by non-practising Catholics
