Popular Irish Bar Burns Before St. Patrick's Day

March 19, 2007 Wisconsin - A fire that destroyed a landmark South Side bar and restaurant is believed to have originated in the restaurants kitchen, fire officials said. The La Crosse Fire Prevention and Arson Bureau remained at Houghtons Fine Food at 1002 Jackson St. for much of Thursday and will continue to gather and review information to determine the cause, said Fire Chief Gregg Cleveland.
