The fact that the Roman Pontiff is scheduled to receive the president of Cyprus, Tassos Papadopoulos, in audience ten days before his departure from the Holy See for Turkey seems not to be designed to pacify the violent-minded minority of the Turkish population--nothing does pacify them, violent-minded minorities anywhere, apart from the law and its servants.
