NP Rank:
Premier Campbell "Disco Dances" at Vaisakhi festival?

The April 7 Vaisakhi festival and parade attracted thousands of people, including prominent B.C. and federal politicians.
CBC reported organizers of the event wore jackets with the word Khalistan - the name of the independent Sikh state separatists want in Punjab. The International Sikh Youth Federation devotees were in attendance and featured prominently in the parade floats. The Sikh Youth Federation were banned in Canada as a terrorist organization, though the festival featured obvious logos and honouring participant martyrs who implemented and orchestrated the Air India bombing in 1985.
Premier Gordon Campbell in attendance was questioned by the CBC media why he was attending a Sikh Festival with obvious Terrorist Overtones? Premier Campbell responded (one can assume) by showing off his flashiest "Disco Dance Moves" that would have John Travolta of "Saturday Night Fever Fame" green with envy and without missing a beat stated "I'm not here to build any support for any political movement in one part of the world or another," he said. "I'm here to celebrate the community in Canada" and with festival music blaring in the background, off Campbell went, we can only imagine to Dance, Dance, Dance the night away".
The Conga line forming on the left had Politicians from every Political stripe in attendance, whose response to CBC questioning, was delightfully filled with carefully guarded phrases such as "If I had known, I would not have attended". Presumably the lack of a 29% percent raise has prevented many Politicians, thus to pinch pennies, hence not being able to afford to purchase Newspapers or Televisions for the Provincial Legislature, or the MLA's Office.
Lesser known "Doe Eyed" MLA's may have been seen sitting on the other side of the street, alone, nursing their drinks, eagerly looking for eye contact and a acknowledgement from other party participants and perhaps get an invite to slow dance to the dolce tunes of the "Ernst Zundel Experience" .
Video of the parade shows floats with portraits of Sikh "martyrs," including Talwinder Singh Parmar, who RCMP believe led the group that planted a bomb on Air India Flight 182 from Toronto in 1985, killing 329 people.
This NP contributor is greatly relieved that the lost art of "Ethnic Vote Pandering" is a Myth, especially in BC.
This Now Public Contributor's Final Thought:
Premier Campbell and the other Politicians after witnessing "Terrorist Linked Overtones" displayed by the very few participants at this Festival should have done the right thing and excused themselves from the Festivities.
NP readers should know this is a satirical story based in part by CBC news original story and does not imply any of the Politicans are condoning the Air India Bombing. These Politicians in this Now Public Contributors Satirical Opinion used very poor judgement and had the intelligence to remove themselves immediately once this incident was brought to their attention, but chose not to.
Photo of Premier featured in this article has been altered by me to include Disco Suit,Title and Background.

Glad you enjoyed it, if it were not for the tragic circumstances surrounding this festival others would be laughing too.
I thought it appropriate, and I think many would agree it is a hilarious pic of Campbell

Whether one decides to ignore the overwhelming connection between BC Sikh extreemism and Air India, Duncan Sikh electricians caught with blood on his hands and the billion dollar boondogle surruonding the entire Air Indian slaughter, or not, politicians like Gordon Campbell, decked out like a Punjabi Prince remind me of the grovelling bullied child in the school yard, hoping for approval, wanting to be liked. How sad.
Sikh festivals don't warrant more political attention or participation than St Patricks day and I can't recall seeing el Gordo dressed like a leprechaun in recent history.
What a opportunist bag licker.
