Being a man of many houses with central heating and keen on a proper education, HRH Prince Charles Saxe Coburg Gotha Mountbatten Windsor, occasionally of Balmoral, Royal Deeside or Highgrove , Tetbury , Clarence House or St James ' or Buckingham or any of several other palaces, will no doubt appreciate this contribution from KernowLexicon and her succinct and surgical precision (as will many of the homeless and dispossessed of Kernow and elsewhere!):

' uhu - n(acronym) U.H.U. - ' Underutilised Housing Unit ' - a term used to more accurately describe the misappropriation and misuse of primary residential housing for occasional holidays by affluent non-residents whilst rendering the indigenous residential population marginilised or homeless and also as an excuse by over-developers for overloading Kernow and elsewhere with unnecessary ' affordable housing ' scam ghettos, concrete and tarmac. More commonly described by the London based pro-overdevelopment BBC and Western Morning News using the inaccurate and semantically contradictory and illogical spin term ' second home ' (' home ' - where one lives; ' second home ' - where one's doppelganger lives?).

The catastrophic social impact of the 'U.H.U.' on the fundamental social fabric of Kernow / Cornwall itself is most vividly brought home when a loud high pitched English voice, sans unnecessary megaphone, is heard over the hedge calling 'Uhu! Just popped down for the weekend (...Roger , golf , St Enedoc , Eden , Tate St Ives , Steins , Kazbah etc etc etc...). By the way - where is everybody?' '

Here are basic, obvious and urgently applicable principles and practices to save Kernow / Cornwall (and elsewhere! ) from over-development suffocation:

• FINITE SPACE = FINITE CAPACITY.
• MIS-APPROPRIATING AND MIS-USING PRIMARY RESIDENTIAL HOUSING FOR HOLIDAYS IS SIMPLY IMMORAL AND WRONG.
• ZONE Residential Housing - ZONE Holiday accommodation
• THIS IS 'SUSTAINABILITY' & 'BALANCE' AND MOST LIKELY TO RESTORE COMMUNITY VIABILITY,VITALITY & WELL-BEING.
• THAT WOULD BE 'PROGRESS' !

Here is a small but significant victory for common sense ( a model for the future ?) - unlikely to be the first or the last in the face of the Duke's relentless earth suffocation shuffle :
