I'm not sure I agree with the American angle, as I see this as a pretty English story. I was just back the US when DI was killed, eating dinner at a microbrewery. Mine was the only expression in the whole place that really changed as the news came on. Not that non-Brits didn't care, but the "Foreign element" seems extraneous in this case.

In time for the 10th anniversary of her death, Lifetime has begun production on TV movie "The Murder of Princess Diana."

Telepic is an adaptation of Noel Botham book of the same name, which puts forward a Kennedy-style conspiracy theory about the car crash that killed the Princess of Wales and her companion, Dodi Fayed.

Working Title TV is producing. Jennifer Morrison ("House") is set to star in the movie, shooting this summer in Luxembourg and Paris. "Murder" will [premiere] on Lifetime in August in time for the anniversary.

Lifetime Networks entertainment [president] Susanne Daniels noted that a recent BBC poll showed that 31% of British citizens believe Diana's death was not an accident despite the official police investigation that dismissed such speculation.

Morrison will play an American journo who witnesses the accident in Paris and launches her own investigation to find the truth.

jordan, I feel this was a tragic accident and Diana was let down by the people around her that were supposed to be protecting her.

I saw it a few weeks ago, I thought the bit with Dodi's father trying to stop him from going out was important. Then they apparently went off to do a shadey Biz deal. It does make sense, the car was stolen and the claim that the electronics were tampered with also holds water.  I have heard of this before in  a different investigation not involving Diana. There is lots of underworld stuff that goes on between the USA and Britain just like with the French, Its like the 100 years war never ended :)
