Much as it's hard to believe, the British Embassy in Paris claimed that on the weekend ending August 31, 1997 (the night Princess Diana died) they were not even aware that Princess
Diana was then in Paris! The claim becomes even more preposterous when one
considers what a wireless operator on duty that night had to say :"It
was that b*****d Fellowes. He turfed me out of my own office. He was in
Paris the night Diana died!"
Lord Fellowes was Princess Diana's brother-in-law (no love lost there) and at the time was private secretary to the none other than the Queen!
