Private sector vs. Public sector

After Graduation each engineer will start hunting for job. Now-a-days first attraction is software and private sector. But can private sector provide jobs for all Graduates and Engineers? Probably not…….. What is the way out? Public sector.

Public sector is a great opportunity to serve the society and also make reasonably good earnings, there is a Great Satisfaction in doing society work under Public sector.

What are the various avenues of recruitment?

Union Public Service commission (UPSC) recruits officers to Govt services and various Govt organizations. UPSC recruits IAS, IPS, IFS, IA and AS officers and also to various government departments. The notifications appear on their websites and also in a weekly newspaper “EMPLOYMENT NEWS”.

There will be written preliminary examination .then written Final examination then Viva Voce. Selected candidates are given intense training and orientation courses. They are posted as ASST commissioner in charge of few taluks . Next promotions will be Deputy commissioners , commissioners , secretaries to the Govt, upto chief secretary Similarly in case of IPS and IFS etc.., they will be involved in policy making and implementation etc.., they are provided with paid holidays to pursue higher studies.

It is a Great opportunity to serve public and also earn reasonably good salaries .

Under State Services Karnataka Public Services commission (KPSC) makes recruitment to Govt services and in various departments. The KAS officers are placed in charge of taluk administration. Further promotions are Asst commissioners, deputy commissioners and further etc..,

Some Departments like KPTCL, ESCOMS, KSRTC, and PWD …. Etc..,

Make their own recruitments Notifications appear in News papers. The recruited engineers can reach the level of chief engineers and above.
