Witness the beginning of the historical partnership between two young men who renewed hope for the war-wounded and hungry of Sierra Leone.

Listen as Dr. Mohamed Bailor Barrie tells the story of how one native Sierra Leonean pediatrician joins with one medical student from the Bronx to create a national ngo called National Organization of Welbody, NOW.

Together, Dan and Dr. Barrie find a way to raise the roof on the first free medical clinic for the war-wounded and their families of the blood diamond area of Sierra Leone known as Kono.

Watch Dr. Barrie travel to the remote village of Timini by primitive canoe to deliver a community outreach program aimed at reducing severe malnutrition.
