About PShack

Paula Shackleton is the Founder and Executive Editor of a small "L" literary website www.bookbuffet.com directed toward book groups and avid readers. It's a conduit for small press publishers and a social networking site for bibliofiles to share the books they read, rate them, and use the online member tools to: keep their own group calendar for meetings and events, with picture of the current book their group is reading, plus an archive of all the books they've read with ratings and comments, and much more.

Paula is also the Founder and Director of WHISTLER READS - a village book group based on the "one book - one city" concept popular across North America. Whistler is the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. We pick a new book and meet to discuss it every 8 weeks, often in the presence of the author (or via podcast). Whistler is 1.5 hr out of Vancouver, BC. I am passionate about video book reviews. I've been filming Canadian Olympic team members and Para-Olympic team members as well as local community and leaders in an ongoing series that puts a "face" to a "book". It's lots of fun to see people's passion for a variety of books and authors.

Ms Shackleton has published two books: one on the Democratic Republic of Congo's copper mining industry titled, KATANGA: LAND OF COPPER, and a personal tribute book for a prominent businessman and philanthropist with profiles of fifty important colleagues, friends and family. It's titled, FIFTY ON 50: Lukas Lundin. She currently has another book and several smaller projects in progress.
