"Man's Best Friend", an adage well known throughout history, from Lassie saving Timmy daily, who for some unknown reason consistently kept falling into that damn well, to Rin Tin Tin and assisting the Blind has now been linked to Medical Marvels. It has been proven that Dogs uncanny sense of smell is a thousand time more sensitve then Humans or Technological sensing instruments. Now discoveries of our Best Friends albilities has now been discovered that Fido's sense of smell can detect impending ailments as well as the present. Some say Dogs can sense not only impending Heart Attacks in people, but now certain cancers. Fido's uncanny sense of smell may attribute to life saving technology in it's simplest form.
If this is proven without a doubt, it may be only a matter of time Doctors and Dogs (Bred for this area of Science) complete with each of their own respective PhD SheepSkins hanging on the office walls may one day work hand in hand in medical diagnostics. This new found technology may provide life saving advanced screening of patients, possibly rendering Billions of dollars worth of of screening techology obsolete. One can almost say the "Keep it Simple Stupid" principle may apply to Advanced Technology vs our Best Friend who enjoys an occasional sip from the toilet. Now, If only dogs had opposable thumbs and the ability of human language skills, Costa Rican Medical schools may well become extinct
Final Thought:
Perhaps next time your Fido chews through your expensive shoes, you should take notice, Fido could be telling you, perhaps you have athletes foot or just poor fashion sense. Either way, he is trying to tell you something. But then again, maybe Fido just likes eating footwear.

It amazes me how dogs remain mans best friend, considering how badly they are so often treated by humans.
