The recent extreme weather here in the UK has affected life in many different ways.  Homes have been flooded, schools closed, businesses closed.  But in Entwistle 2 weeks ago, whilst things weren't as severe, the consequences were just as significant.

A planned outdoor summer concert has to be abandoned as the heavens opened and huge drops of rain prevented the Classical Guitarist Robin Hill from playing.  The audience were naturally disappointed, but Robin soldiered on undeterred, and completed what he could of the repertoire from a small pavilion.

Today, Sunday 22 July, saw the reschedule of the event, and whilst the skies threatened to thwart the event again, the rain held off and a great concert ensued.

As you'll see from the photo of him tuning up, Robin was taking no chances this time, and was ready for all weathers.  Such is the life of a musician.

Read Robin's blog entry on the concert here.

See something of what you missed yourself by watching one of Robin's videos:

Remembrance park is such a great setting, and to add to that Robin's music, it must have been a great concert. Shame I couldn't make it. Glad it went well this time.

It's great to hear about local musicians, performing to avid audiences and keeping live music alive!

Thanks Brian.  I'm just starting my NowPublic 'career', so I very much appreciate the feedback and encouragement.  I think Robin may be coming State-side later in the year... I'll let you know if he does.
