Books are also a great form of cultural pedagogy. By books I am not simply referring to boring math and history books; rather, I am referring to books that nourish the mind and stimulate the imagination. Books have the power to speak to people through someone else’s story. They have the power to motivate, inspire, rescue, and educate the mind. A great example is the book “Crank.” This book educates its readers on the realities and consequences of Crystal Meth, a popular but deadly drug, by telling Bree’s story of addiction. Reading is an enduring source of knowledge that everyone should take advantage of.
