I picked up Fearless today in our local coffee shop. It looks like an interesting mag. Here was an historical piece they had about Hogan's Alley. It's nice to see someone trying to preserve the legacy of the Downtown Eastside.
Hogan's Alley was probably nicknamed after an 1895 comic strip about a lively New York City working class neighborhood. It was a multicultural alley running through the Downtown Eastside but its precise location has been hotly debated. Some remember this 8-foot alley behind Radha Yoga, formerly the Brickhouse. Others locate it between Union and Prior, running from Main Street past Gore.
