The Remnents of Hurricane Dean swept through central California early Thursday morning as lightening lit up the sky and thunderclaps shook houses, waking their residents. Rasin growers scrambled to protect their harvest from being ruined.
Temperatures are supposed to be near 108 later in the day and with high humidty the government has issued emergency warnings for people and instructed safe areas to be open where people can escape the heat.
