I also know that many democrats are republicans in disguise. I look at the person and not the party. I choose those who give liberties and don't take them away. Below is my feelings on politics. I am a Vietnam veteran / cryogenic tech for nixon = flying 20k ft in airforce1 which basically means i was trained to make the air the president and all the politicians breathe when they fly above 20,000 feet. It had to be 99.9% pure while the other branches had to 99.8% pure and in civilian life it had to be 99.7% pure and 99.5% pure will kill you. We used a GB1A plant to make it at portsmouth naval shipyard Norfolk Virginia. No i didn't go to fight. However, i did meet many who did go from my platoon. I was offered $2,500.00 to sell my aviation guarantee which i wouldn't do because i could never kill anybody. Thats just me. Yes i transitioned my gender a little bit later but thats another story. hey i am a marine and i can do anything except killing isn't my cup of tea. I left the USMC one week before my president (nixon) resigned. When your in the marines your considered the "presidents own" Its a strange mental place to be!  I met with other vietnam and iraq and korean etc vets who are against this war this past weekend. I have a 150 foot roll of message from families and vets and a few students and many parents of dead soldiers sharing their pain for the iraq people. Many of the messages said "I am so sorry and i pray for your people." ,, "I am so embarressed about my goverment.",, "I pray every night for your children.",,, I can go on and on and on with 6000 messages of concern for the iraq people and disgust in themselves for voting as they did. Yes i got some teens who don't like war or killing. There were also many children. There was also a man who lost his son in afghanistan. He cried on my shoulder. I added afghanistan to my sign as soon as he shared that. i just think if we had spent 1/2 what we spent on war on peace we would have less enemies and more friends. Yes there are some bad people out there but do we put everyone else's life at risk just to get a few bad apples? Would you have half your neighbors die to get a murderer or would you wait and be patient and work with your neighbors and try to get the bad people by making their choices in places to go fewer? I know i would. All i know is war never solved anything because the POWER it gives leaders becomes much worse for everyone. Remember the president also let pearl harbor be attacked during WWII ! That surely isn't the way to get people to help. If it is we humans are in a terrible state of being.
